What is Friends of Bez?

Friends of Bez is an arts non-profit committed to fostering artistic growth, supporting emerging artists, and promoting community engagement through various initiatives and events. Our purpose is to provide meaningful opportunities and resources to nurture artistic talent, foster creative expression, and cultivate a vibrant arts community.

We work within the community of Langley and throughout the region to raise funding for arts initiatives, scholarships for arts training, residencies for artists, subsidies for arts presentations and performances for emerging, veteran and notable artists. We seek to increase the profile of the arts in our community and to support the ongoing training, creative efforts and linkage between community and artists to forge a healthy arts ecosystem that champions the arts in all its forms.

Friends of Bez Objectives

OBJECTIVE 1: To provide opportunities for veteran and emerging artists to present their original work with creative, technical and production support.

OBJECTIVE 2: To outfit an arts focused facility to educate the public in the arts, focusing on humanizing artists and making the arts accessible to people of all ages, cultures, abilities, and socio-economic means.

OBJECTIVE 3: To provide a venue where performance arts events are produced for the purpose of cultivating and advancing the public’s enjoyment, understanding and appreciation of the arts.  To give artists the opportunity to inform and practice their craft through presentation.

OBJECTIVE 4: To create a home for artists to connect with one another, new audiences, mentors, presenters, and collaborative opportunities.

OBJECTIVE 5: To provide financial support in the form of scholarships, bursaries, production expenses, residency costs, and subsidies
